Enjoy the Penne rigate from ItalianaVera, artisanally crafted using the bronze extrusion technique,
and discover the story of one of the most iconic and beloved pasta shapes in the world.
It all began in 1865 in Genoa when the talented pasta maker Giovanni Battista Capurro patented a machine capable of cutting fresh pasta tubes diagonally.
This innovation was a true revolution as it allowed obtaining hollow pasta without crushing it during the process.

But where does their intriguing name come from? The answer takes us back in time when the new pasta shape was associated with the nibs of elegant fountain pens (penne), hence the name “penne.”

The success of penne lies in their culinary versatility. With their hollow center and external ridges, they are perfect for capturing sauce and delivering an explosion of flavors with every bite.

Arrabbiata, yes, but what about other recipes?

Wouldn’t you want to indulge in them with Arrabbiata sauce?
Try the artisanal Arrabbiata sauce from ItalianaVera, prepared just like at home, and it will win you over from the first bite.
The spicy note of the sauce adds an intriguing touch to the pasta, offering a combination of flavors that will delight even the most discerning palates.
But it doesn’t stop there! Penne are perfect for countless other culinary creations.
You can try them with creamy four-cheese sauces, relish in mushroom-based sauces, or even venture into penne alla vodka,
a trend that emerged in the Italian culinary scene in the 80s. This recipe regained popularity in the United States after 30 years, becoming one of the most sought-after pasta dishes.
